History. Spirit. Place.
Join your host, Adrianne Montoya, and explore the darker side of the folklore and history of the American Southwest.
I’m both the voice and the pen (or clacking keys) behind the mic. I’m a fourth-generation native of Colorado, and my family has deep roots in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.
I’ve always been interested in storytelling and folklore, and I’ve studied and worked in fields as varied as anthropology, archaeology, literature, languages, linguistics, and education. I’ve traveled extensively in the Southwest, as well as other parts of the U.S. and in Latin America.
After career detours into research, teaching, and editing, I’m making my way back to writing. I continue to edit and translate but I’m shifting my energies to writing essays and fiction.
